Provisional insurance explained
Dayinsure Learner
provides insurance that:
·
is comprehensive and underwritten by Aviva, the biggest insurance company
in the UK and the 6th largest worldwide
·
has an excess of £250 - this means you have to pay the first £250 of any
claim – even if the claim is not your fault
·
covers you to drive the named vehicle, between the hours of 6am and 10pm
PROVIDED you are accompanied by a suitably qualified driver
·
can only be bought online on this site – we do have a helpdesk for technical
queries (0845 450 6615) but please note that policies can NOT be bought over
the phone
·
can be bought for either 30, 60 or 90 days, but which ceases to provide any
cover as soon as you pass your driving test
·
only works when bought alongside an existing annual insurance policy on the
car in question
·
is backed up by Aviva’s award winning claims service
Our insurance may be
for you if:
·
You don’t own your own car
·
You want to learn to drive in someone else’s car : and you have their
permission
·
The car you want to practice driving in is already insured on an annual
policy (but you are not a named driver on that policy)
·
You have a provisional licence
·
You haven’t passed your driving test
·
You’re aged 17 or over
Our insurance will NOT
be for you if:
·
You’ve already passed your driving test
·
You own your own car
·
The car you want to drive does not have an annual insurance policy covering
it
·
The car you intend to drive is in a police compound
·
You want to drive between the hours of 10 at night and 6 in the morning
·
You have had previous claims or convictions
What do you need to
buy our insurance?
·
Your provisional licence number
·
A credit or debit card - this doesn’t have to be your own – using eg a
parent’s is fine : with their permission
·
An email address so we can send your insurance certificate and documents
·
The name of the insurance company providing the annual cover on the car,
and their policy number
What happens if you
buy your insurance and then pass your test?
·
All cover under our policy ends immediately
·
You are entitled to a refund of any un-used premium after the first month,
subject to a £20 admin charge
